STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) There's new roadwork in Stevens Point planned for next week.
On Tuesday Minnesota Avenue will be widened to include new curbs, sidewalks and bike lanes. The project will run through August. There will still be local access to homes and businesses, but not for through traffic. The project is being made possible through 467-thousand dollars in federal grants.
On Tuesday Main Street will be closed downtown between Church and Water Streets. New seal coating is being put on the roadway. The road will reopen Wednesday afternoon. A curbside parking ban before the work begins will start on Monday night.
