MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Milwaukee Police have arrested 1 of 2 men wanted for stealing a car with an 8-month-old boy inside.
A 60-year-old man told officers he thought the car was his own vehicle – which was recently stolen from him. The incident happened late Sunday night at a north side Milwaukee gas station.
Police said the boy’s mother was inside paying for fuel when 2 men approached the vehicle, tossed out a male acquaintance who was waiting in the car, and drove off with the baby in the back seat.
About 35 minutes later, a woman saw the baby on the hood of a squad car outside a police station – and she ran in the station to alert officers. But by the time they ran out, the suspects were gone. The infant was not harmed.
