MILWAUKEE (WSAU) Milwaukee County deputies are checking a 2002 Toyota Camry for defects after a fatal crash that involved speeding.

Police say a 75-year-old Milwaukee man was northbound on I-43 near Fond du Lac Avenue when the car hit a wall, continued on and struck a light pole. Authorities say 76-year-old passenger Emilie Bartha was pronounced dead at the scene and the unnamed driver was seriously injured.

The Camry is not part of Toyota's recall but authorities are checking it out for mechanical problems as they look for the cause of the accident.
