WAUKESHA, Wis. (WTAQ) - A judge says Mercedes-Benz must pay $482,000 in damages and legal fees to a Waukesha man who bought a defective car. Marco Marquez paid $56,000 for his Mercedes in 2005. But the car often refused to start. And the dealer said they couldn’t fix it after trying several times. Marquez then wanted a refund under Wisconsin’s lemon law – and he filed suit after Mercedes refused to pay the refund in the required 30 days. The company says it’s disappointed in the judge’s ruling, and it’s thinking about appealing. The customer’s lawyer, Vince Megna, says it might be the largest judgment ever involving a single car.
