PLOVER, Wis. (WSAU) – A Mosinee man is in serious condition after a head-on crash with a semi truck on I-39 near the town of Plover early this morning.
The Portage County sheriff's department says the 20-year-old was driving northbound on the interstate when he lost control about midnight, drove through the median and entered the southbound lane. A semi truck crashed into the car.
The car driver was trapped in his vehicle and had to be pulled out by Plover fire and rescue crews. He is in serious condition at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
The truck driver, a 50-year-old from Tomahawk, said he would seek medical attention on his own for the injuries he suffered.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
