WITTENBERG, Wis. (WSAU) - The Marathon County Medical Examiner is trying to determine whether 82 year old Leo Liebe died of smoke inhalation, burns or another reason.

Liebe died after the brush he was burning near his home in the town of Franzen started a grass fire. Liebe died at the scene. The Marathon County sheriff's department and the Wittenberg Fire Department responded to the call Friday evening.

The fire was put out quickly and didn't damage any nearby buildings.
