Twins Rally To Trim Tigers

by

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  Delmon Young singled in the go-ahead score to cap a two-run seventh inning as the Twins rallied to trim the Tigers 4-3 in the first of a three-game series at Target Field.  Trailing 3-0, Minnesota scored twice in the sixth and twice in the seventh to take the lead.  A bases-loaded walk to Michael Cuddyer [[ cuh-DYE-er ]] tied the game at three for the Twins.  Cuddyer and Danny Valencia each had RBI hits in the sixth for Minnesota, which remains four games ahead of the White Sox in the AL Central.  Matt Guerrier recorded one out to get the win in relief and Matt Capps picked up his seventh save.  Francisco Liriano will be on the mound when the series continues tonight.  The Tigers will counter with Max Scherzer [[ SURE-zer ]].  First-pitch is at 7:10 p.m.
