TOWN OF ROME, Wis (WSAU) An off-duty Wood County sheriffs deputy is being cited for O-W-I after a motorcycle crash on August 23rd in the Town of Rome. Deputy John Anderson was found lying in the ditch on Highway O around 6-30.
The officer who found him determined at the scene that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Wood County sheriff Tom Reichert says Anderson was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital. He has since been released. Anderson is on medical leave and has not returned to work. He'll face a disciplinary hearing after any court proceedings in the case.
