WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – The attorney representing Representative Jeff Wood will try to sever herself from the case this afternoon.

Attorney Tracey Wood said in a brief last month that she is no longer able to represent her client because “the client insists on taking action with which the lawyer has a fundamental disagreement,” according to the motion. She does not elaborate. She says in the motion she's already withdrawn from Wood's case in Monroe County and that Wood has not paid her retainer fee in the Marathon County case.

Jeff Wood is contesting his attorney’s motion. He's accused of operating his car under the influence of drugs last September. A state crime lab report released earlier this year said Wood had eight times the therapeutic range of a cough syrup ingredient when he was arrested September 29, 2009, for driving erratically on Highway 51 in Rib Mountain.
