RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis (WSAU) Some people have been trying to drive up to the top of Rib Mountain even though the road is closed.
The park manager tells W-S-A-W NewsChannel 7 that tickets will be given out to people who don't live on Park Road or who aren't construction workers. Several citations have already been issued. The fine is $200.
The road is closed so new sewer and water lines can be installed.
The park itself remains open, but park-goers either need to hike in or use the entrance near the Granite Peak ski area parking lot. The construction work will be finished this winter.
