MADISON (WSAU) Wisconsin’s top National Guard commander was promoted recently – and he’s been recommended for a second promotion. Governor Scott Walker took a step yesterday toward making Donald Dunbar a two-star major general. Earlier this month, the U-S Senate approved Dunbar’s promotion from colonel to brigadier general – and it cleared the way for Walker’s decision to recommend the two-star position to the Senate.

Last year the Air Force Inspector General had investigated a complaint against Dunbar. Those complaints are confidential, and no details ever came out about it. Wisconsin National Guard Lieutenant Colonel Jackie Guthrie said she didn’t know what the complaint was about – and she said the investigation is now over.
