Detroit’s Rally Against The Nuggets Was Snuffed Out

by

Former Piston Chauncey Billups scored a game-high 26 point for Denver as the Nuggets knocked off Detroit 109-100 last night at The Palace. Will Bynum bagged 19 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter, to pace the Piston’s attack while Tracy McGrady added 14 points, six boards and eight assists for Detroit, which was looking for its third straight win.

Billups made 3-pointers on three straight possessions late in the game to neutralize Bynum’s one-man comeback effort for Detroit. It was Denver’s first win at the Palace since 1995.

The Pistons played the final three quarters without guard Rodney Stuckey, who sustained a right shoulder contusion. He was on defense when he ran into the shoulder of Denver's Carmelo Anthony, who was setting a screen. X-rays taken on Stuckey's shoulder were negative. Tomorrow night, it’s Detroit at Miami.
