STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) – The Stevens Point School board has a busy day of interviews ahead of itself as the three candidates for superintendent are whittled down to one.
The three candidates up for selection are current interim superintendent Attila Weninger, Round Lakes Schools technology director James Tenbusch, and Three Lakes superintendent George Karling.
School board president Renae Shibley says all three candidates will meet with board members for lunch and individual interviews. The board will then come back and meet together with members of the community to help vet all the candidates. “We really want to make sure the community outside the district is involved in this.”
At 7 PM, the board will go into a closed session meeting to discuss and review all the interviews and information gathered so far. Shibley says if they do make a decision tonight, they could start the hiring process immediately. “We will check references and do further vetting to ensue the best fit for the district.”
