Dublin, Ohio (WSAU) Madison golfer Steve Stricker faltered near the end yesterday, but he hung on to win the P-G-A’s Memorial Tournament. After a long rain delay, Stricker bogeyed two of the final four holes on Jack Nicklaus’s Muirfield Village course in Dublin Ohio. But he did enough on the front nine to complete his final round at four-under-68, and win by one stroke over Matt Kuchar and Brandt Jobe. The 44-year-old Stricker finished at 16-under-par 272 in winning his 10th career P-G-A tournament. It was the first time he finished in the Top-10 in 12 trips to Muirfield. He also moved up to the Number-four spot in the World Golf Rankings. And Stricker is the highest-ranking American for the first time in his career. Also, Pewaukee native Mark Wilson had a Top-10 finish. He tied for seventh at eight-under-280. Wilson shot a one-under-par 71 in his final round.
