STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) A long-running construction project in downtown Stevens Point is over. Yesterday the new Mathias Mitchell Square was open to traffic.

The area had been under construction since March. Some downtown parking was off-limits during the work as well.

The city is planning a formal dedication ceremony this weekend as part of the annual Independence Day parade.
