STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) City officials say part of the CenterPoint Marketplace Mall will remain open as retail space, as other parts of the mall become the new campus for Mid-State Technical College.

The city has wrapped up a series of listening sessions, and is close to finalizing its plans.

M-S-T-C will move into the part of the mall that used to house J-C Penny. The Shopko section of the mall will stay in-tact. Access to the area from Third Street will be expanded, and more parking will be added to the campus part of the project.

The city purchased the mall property last week, and has already agreed to $5.9-million in bonding for the project. A final design will be picked by May 2nd.
