VERONA, WI (WTAQ) - The Dane County medical examiner’s office confirmed today that a two-year-old Verona boy died from a homicide – and they identified him as Gabriel Olson. Medical Examiner Vincent Tranchida said the toddler appeared to have trauma that was inflicted – and more information is pending. Olson’s 28-year-old mother Anne has been arrested on a possible count of reckless homicide. The state Department of Children-and-Families investigated after the boy was taken to a hospital and put on life support in late August. His skull bones were fractured, and he had heavy bleeding in his abdomen. A state report quoted Anne Olson as saying her child tripped and fell – but doctors said the injuries were not consistent with the explanation.
