SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man has been charged with his 5th OWI after police stopped him driving a minivan that wasn’t his early Tuesday morning. 36 year old Patrick Hupf has been charged with his 5th OWI, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent and operating a vehicle after revocation after admitting to authorities that he had been drinking way too much. According to the criminal complaint, officers received a report of a man going from vehicle to vehicle, perhaps in an effort to steal objects from cars around 2:30 Tuesday morning. When officers arrived on the scene, they observed Hupf attempting to drive away in a 2003 Honda Odyssey with it’s sliding door open, lights flashing and driving erratically. When officers stopped the vehicle, Hupf told them there was no point in performing the field sobriety tests, as he had been drinking way too much and didn’t want to waste the officer’s time. If convicted on all the charges, Hupf could spend more than 13 years behind bars.
