LA CROSSE, WI (WTAQ) - La Crosse County Board member Jill Billings will run against local government watchdog David Drewes for a Wisconsin Assembly seat next month. Billings won a four-way Democratic primary Tuesday for the seat given up by La Crosse Democrat Jennifer Shilling, after she won a recall election for the state Senate. Drewes was the only GOP candidate in the heavily Democratic district. He and Billings will square off November eighth. Billings got 52-percent of the vote in the Democratic primary, to 32-percent for second-place finisher Christine Clair. Clair heads the La Crosse School Board.
