The script for the untitled 23rd Bond film called for Daniel Craig, who plays the secret agent, to jump onto the roof of a moving train packed with passengers.
But authorities fear the show-stopping stunt would promote fare-evading and cast a negative light on the government-operated railway.
Indian Railways Minister Dinesh Trivedi tells AFP, ""Rooftop travel is illegal in India and it cannot be encouraged. Rooftop travel will not be shown. (Filming) has to be safe and passengers should not be inconvenienced.""
Shooting is scheduled for February or March next year (12).
