STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) A Portage County woman reached a plea bargain after trying to stab her estranged husband last year during an argument. Prosecutors dropped attempted homicide charges against 34-year-old Jessica Galvan of Alban. Instead she pled guilty to one count of aggravated battery.

The homicide charge could have carried a 60-year jail term. The maximum sentence for aggravated battery in 15-years.

During the incident last June she also slashed the tires on her husband's truck.

Sentencing is October 28th.
