MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ) - Milwaukee police Chief Ed Flynn says collecting race data at every traffic stop will actually be a defense against racial profiling.
Flynn says that will be proved when the data is analyzed.
The state race data collection program was put in place during Governor Jim Doyle’s administration, but was repealed by the current Legislature.
Opponents of the program say it is unfair racial profiling, but Chief Flynn disputes that.
