The battle of the summer morning show concert series has begun, with NBC's Today show leading the charge by announcing its star-studded lineup for 2012.  Things get underway June 1 with The Band Perry , and then continue with Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, country superstar Kenny Chesney and Maroon 5.

July will see Flo Rida and Hot Chelle Rae take the stage, while August finds Train and Jason Mraz -- along with tourmate Christina Perri - - joining the crowd on the plaza at New York's Rockefeller Center.  Additional performers may be announced in the coming weeks.

ABC's Good Morning America has not yet released its own summer concert series lineup.
