Jennifer Lopez has sued a former employee for extortion, according to TMZ.com . The actress-singer claims that Hakob Manoukian , who worked for her as a driver, demanded $2.8 million and threatened to share secrets about J-Lo’s private life.
Lopez's allegations come in a countersuit in response to a complaint filed by Manoukian, who claims he was forced to resign his position after being publicly berated by her manager, Benny Medina . Lopez is suing for damages in excess of $20 million.
In the former American Idol judge’s countersuit, obtained by TMZ, Lopez makes the allegation that Manoukian became “drunk with power” and wanted to control her security team. When he was “shut down,” Lopez claims he threatened to release highly-embarrassing confidential information.
J-Lo also claims that Manoukian said that if he was not paid $2.8 million, he would give information to authorities and have her criminally prosecuted.
