MADISON, WI (WSAU) The Department of Natural Resources reports it plans to lift burning restrictions in seven central Wisconsin counties Monday morning.Recent rainfall has lessened the fire danger in the much the region.
Adams, Columbia, Green Lake, Marquette, Portage, Waupaca and Waushara counties will have the ban completely lifted. It will also be lifted in portions of four other counties which are within DNR protection areas.
The rainfall has reduced the wildfire danger enough the state agency has decided to allow campfires again. Despite that, drought conditions still exist in large portions of central and southern Wisconsin.
