FORT MYERS, FLA (WSAU) A former Wausau man, who was working as a caretaker at a gated community in North Fort Myers Florida, was murdered on Tuesday night.
61 year old Gregory Imhoff was shot to death while checking storm damage at a home in Sabal Springs. Neighbors went looking for Imhoff and found his body.
US Marshals, acting on a tip, went to another home and found a suspect in the murder. 42 year old Billy Ray Retherford was shot and killed when he raised a weapon toward officers. He is believed to be Imhoff's killer and was also a suspect in another home invasion murder on July 24th in San Carlos Florida.
