SPENCER, WI (WSAU) - A three-car crash left four people injured last night near Spencer. The chain-reaction accident happened just after 7:30 p.m.
Marathon County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Randy Albert says a driver was slowing down to turn left when the crash occured. "The trailing vehicle operator doesn't recognize what's occuring and strikes that vehicle from behind on the driver's rear side. That forced the lead vehicle into the east ditch and the striking vehicle ends up in the southbound lane where it is struck by a southbound vehicle.”
Albert says the people involved were all taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for evaluation. "It's my understanding there were four injuries total, two of which required transport to St. Joseph's Hospital. The condition of those people is unknown. I'm lead to believe these are non-life threatening injuries."
The crash remains under investigation. Names have not yet been released by Marathon County investigators.
