RHINELANDER, WI  (WSAU)  -  Rhinelander officials have released the name of the man who died in a house fire Wednesday. Robert Fischer was trapped by the blaze, and fire crews could not get to him. His wife Esther was able to escape the burning house, but was injured in the process. She was taken to Madison St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. She has since been transferred to the burn unit at University Hospital.

The State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
