Christian groups on the attack over Lincoln language

From WENN.com

Officials at groups like Movieguide and the Dove Foundation feel sure Lincoln and the respectable men of the time would not have spoken as coarsely and they're upset about the 40-plus obscenities in the film.

But Lincoln historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, who wrote the book on which Spielberg's film is set, has defended the movie's language, telling The Hollywood Reporter, ""I saw pretty much every draft of the script and never had a problem with the language.""

Her views aren't shared by another Lincoln biographer, James McPherson, who acted as a consultant on the film.

He explains, ""The profanity actually bothered me, especially Lincoln's use of it. It struck me as completely unlikely.""
