Bruno Mars Settles for #2 as Taylor Swift's Red Holds at #1

In the end, Bruno Mars couldn't pull out a win with his new album.  Unorthodox Jukebox debuts on the Billboard album chart at #2, while Taylor Swift's Red holds steady at #1 for a fifth non-consecutive week.

Taylor's album sold 208,000 copies in the past week: a 25% sales increase.  While Unorthodox Jukebox sold better than expected, its sales total was 192,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

The good news is that even though Bruno's album failed to debut at #1, it still did better than his debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans , which peaked at #3 and only sold 61,000 copies in its debut week.  Bruno can console himself with his "Locked Out of Heaven," which is number one for a second week.

Meanwhile, Michael Buble's album Christmas , which came out last year, has now shot up to #3 on the chart with a 30% sales increase.  One Direction's album Take Me Home holds at #4, and this week passes the one million mark in sales.  1D is now the only act this year to sell a million copies each of two separate albums.
