RHINELANDER, WI (WXPR) - A St. Germain woman facing charges of heroin manufacturing and delivery will get a new lawyer.
26-year-old Jennifer Heiting is charged with a two felonies for delivering heroin, another felony for possession of narcotics and both felony and misdemeanor bail jumping. She also has a September misdemeanor retail theft charge.
Public Defender John Voorhees told Oneida County Circuit Court he has a conflict of interest representing Heiting, and his office is seeking another lawyer.
Voorhees asked Judge Patrick O'Melia for a reduction in Heiting's $10,000 cash bond. O'Melia denied the request.
Heiting could face more serious charges if she provided drugs to a town of Crescent man found dead last week from an apparent overdose. Authorities named Heiting in the case, pending the outcome of toxicology tests on the dead man.
