The Incourage Community Foundation is the buyer. Their goal is to work with area residents and business leaders to find a community use for the property. The staff at the Rapids Tribune moved to a new office on West Riverview Expressway earlier this week. The newspaper had used the old building on First Avenue South since 1958..
Funding for the purchase comes from Forward Community Investments. It's a statewide group that raises donations to pay for local redevelopment projects. The purchase price hasn't been made public.
