Train will headline the NBC special New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly on December 31. The band will play two songs: "Mermaid" and the John Lennon classic "Imagine."  Train frontman Pat Monahan recently served as a fill-in mentor on The Voice, which Carson Daly hosts.

Also on the bill for the event in New York City's Times Square will be the newly-crowned winner of The Voice , Cassadee Pope .

In addition, the special will feature a retrospective of the year's top musical performances, featuring artists like Adele , Madonna and Justin Bieber , plus appearances by The Voice coaches, Jay Leno , and other NBC stars.
