WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Wausau's city council holds a special meeting tonight at 5:15 at City Hall to vote on requiring veterinarians to submit some pet records to the city.
The city wants rabies vaccination data, saying it's a public health and safety concern. The city also says those records could help catch households that are in violation of the city's pet-limit laws -- which are currently two dogs or three cats.
Vets would be paid for the data --- $120 per year, paid quarterly. The money would come from pet licensing fees.
