STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) – Seven people in Portage County could face criminal charges for a string of burglaries and wire thefts that cost victims more than $40,000.
Detectives have been investigating the case for the past four months. The crimes happened between the fall of 2010 and 2011 and took place mostly in northeastern Portage County and northwestern Waupaca County.
They included suspects stealing wire from four different irrigation systems.
Police referred the following people to prosecutors:
-18-year-old Cory Quick for one count of theft
-18-year-old Kody Kieliszewski for one count of theft
-19-year-old Garrett Byran for three counts of burglary and five counts of theft
-19-year-old John Nelson for two counts of burglary and six counts of theft
-20-year-old Evan Firkus for one count of theft
-20-year-old Sam Disher for one count of burglary and one count of theft
-25-year-old Jordan Dasko for two counts of burglary
Detectives say the investigation is ongoing.
