As odd as it may sound, Jordin Sparks only saw Sparkle -- the movie in which she makes her big-screen debut -- for the first time on Monday. Jordin tweeted that she was "nervous" about watching the movie, in which she plays an aspiring singer opposite Whitney Houston , who plays her mom, but she shouldn't have worried.
After the screening, Jordin tweeted , "OMG. Moved to tears. You guys are gonna love the movie. That's all I can say."
Not only will fans love the movie, they'll love the soundtrack as well, since it includes many new songs featuring Jordin: three solo numbers, and four where she sings with her co-stars. She hasn't released an album since 2009's Battlefield, so this is the first new music we've gotten from her in a while. Meanwhile, Jordin continues to work on her third album.
Sparkle hits theaters August 17.
