NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (WSAU) – A Clark County jail will be sentenced today for escaping from custody last August.
Christopher Demarrias was being treated at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville when he hit a sheriff’s deputy in the head and ran off into some nearby woods. Police arrested Demarrias after a neighbor heard him break into a vacant home in the town of Pine Valley. The homeowner was away on vacation at the time.
Demarrias pled guilty to escape and criminal trespassing. Burglary, theft and disorderly conduct were dismissed but a judge can consider them at sentencing today.
Demarrias faces up to 3 years in prison on the most serious charge.
