Following a report by E! Online that claimed Adam Lambert and Fox have been in talks for "over a month" about Adam joining the judges' panel on American Idol , Adam himself says, "Not so fast."

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter , Adam seems to indicate that while he's not against the idea, no actual talks have occurred.

"Idol has an amazing history of introducing great musical talent, and I was very fortunate to have had the Idol stage play a big part in my career," Adam tells THR, adding, "IF" -- which is written in capital letters -- "Idol wants to talk to me about judging, I'd be more than flattered to have that conversation."

When Adam was on Idol on season eight, the judges were Simon Cowell , Paula Abdul , Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi .   The panel currently comprises Randy, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez , but there are rumors that J-Lo plans to leave.
