WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis (WSAU) The Wisconsin Rapids City Council voted 7-1 against a zoning to allow an adult daycare facility to move into a residential neighborhood. The current facility is near the city garage. It's one more than one floor, and is difficult for residents who have trouble using the stairs.
Neighbors were opposed to the new location that was proposed for 8th Street South on the city's east side.
Tuesday's council vote upholds a recommendation from the planning commission, which also recommended against the new location.
