Milwaukee man charged in child sexual assault case

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) – A former Stevens Point high school teacher faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced today on charges he sexually assaulted a family member.

The teacher pled guilty in late April to repeated sexual assault of a child and incest. Both charges carry a maximum 25-year prison sentence.

A third charge – exposing genitals – was dismissed. But Wood County Judge Todd Wolf can consider the charge at sentencing.

The teacher is not being identified to protect the victim's identity. He remains jailed unable to post a $250,000 cash bond.

The teacher told police he began touching the victim in late 2010 then started having sex with the victim last year. The two had sex between six and 10 times, including two days before police interviewed the teacher and victim.

The teacher resigned November 1st from the school district.
