MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) – Police in Marshfield have identified the man who held up the Walgreens Friday morning.
Police say 31-year-old Dustin Jon Fritz robbed the Walgreen's on North Central Avenue in Marshfield at gunpoint and got away with some drugs. He faces felony counts in the case including Armed Robbery, recklessly endangering safety, pointing a firearm at an officer, failure to comply and possession of narcotics.
Fritz is currently in treatment at St Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A jail official said today that he is not in custody and that they're not sure when he'll make an appearance to face charges.
Sergeant Nick Poeschel said another officer was in the area when the robbery happened and chased the suspect to the American Auto Sales and Services business nearby. The suspect barricaded himself inside but eventually surrendered.
Police have recovered a pistol that was used in the robbery. Poeschel could not say what kind of drugs were taken in the holdup.
