MARSHFIELD, Wis (WSAU) - The men who helped save the City of Marshfield from a devastating fire 125 years ago will be remembered at an old-fashioned Fireman’s Picnic being held on Sunday.
That picnic will feature antique fire equipment, displays, hose demonstrations, fire safety practices, and food. There will also be a model railroad exhibit in conjunction with the rededication of “Engine 2442” scheduled for 1:00. “Engine 2442” is the locomotive that’s greeted visitors Marshfield for generations.
That picnic runs from 1:00 until 4:00 on Sunday in Marshfield’s Wildwood Park, and kicks-off a week-long observance of the fire that almost totally destroyed Marshfield 125 years ago
