Adele is not only the world's biggest-selling pop star right now, she's about to become a mom.

A note on her website states, "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."  It's possible the singer could be planning to adopt, but her use of the word "expecting" does make it sound as if she means she's pregnant.

"Simon" is Adele's boyfriend, Simon Konecki , the head of the charity Drop4Drop, which brings clean water to developing countries.  The two have been dating since last year.  She told Vogue of Simon earlier this year, "He’s wonderful.  And he’s proud of me, but he don’t care about what I do or what other people think.  He looks after me.  I don’t think I would have gotten through the recovery for my [vocal cord] surgery if it hadn’t been for him.”

In February, Adele told People magazine, "I really want to be a mum," adding that her goal is to have three sons by the age of 30.
