MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) – Merrill city leaders will be spending the day meeting with their prospective city administrators.
City council president Steve Haas says the mayor's selection committee will be bringing in all four finalists for the position to talk with city leaders during a day long interview process. “We're not going to be spending all 12 hours with the candidates.”
Interviews with the candidates start this morning at 8 am and run through noon. The city staff and department heads will get a chance to meet and discuss things with the candidates after lunch. Haas says the four will then get a tour of the city. “I'll be taking them around in my van to see the city of Merrill.”
The public will have a chance to meet all the candidates at that point during a meet and greet session at 6 pm.
The committee of the whole will meet next week to go over the candidates and find their new administrator, with a final decision to put into place at a meeting before the new city council takes over next month.
