GREEN BAY, Wis. (WSAU) - Wisconsin Republicans promised to do all it takes to keep first-term Governor Scott Walker in office. He faces a June 5th recall election.

Party members say winning that test will give their candidates momentum going into the fall election. Walker and five other Republicans are targeted in the vote which is about three weeks away. While the party faithful was pledging to support Walker, his Democratic opponent, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, spent yesterday on the campaign trail in western Wisconsin.

At the state party’s annual convention in Green Bay, Walker said Wisconsin is headed in the right direction now after his administration turned things around.

While Walker was speaking at the GOP convention, Barrett was making campaign stops yesterday in La Crosse, Osseo and Eau Claire.
