Halloween: How to Dress Pop Culture on a Budget

From Hollywood.com Staff

Halloween is stressful. Not only because rogue freak hurricanes force you to be creative with last-minute costume choices, but because there's so much pop culture to be inspired by. And it certainly doesn't help that most of us don't boast the deep pockets of TV characters who don ridiculously splashy Halloween garb (we're looking at you, Modern Family).

So this year, the Hollywood.com staff made it their mission to find fun, easy, entertainment-savvy costumes on a budget. (And by ""on a budget,"" we mean, ""for when you're lazy."") Still trying to determine your costume? Never fear, because not only do journalists identify with your procrastination, but we have some ideas for you right here! Happy Reese's Binging Day Halloween!

Abbey Stone: What is an Editor at Hollywood.com, a TV fanatic, and a wannabe Brit? Downton Abbey!

Michael Arbeiter: In a million years, when kids go to school, they're gonna know: Once there was a staff of entertainment journalists, and they lived with each other in the New York metropolitan area. [Editor's Note: He is doing a Beasts of the Southern Wild line. See it. Really.]

Kate Ward: Krysten Ritter in Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 + Magnets = Magnets, Bitch!

Aly Semigran: I couldn't decide what I wanted to be more for Halloween this year, a character from an ABC Family show or a pun. I settled on both by being a Bunhead.

Kelsea Stahler: ""I've been around the world, I've been everywhere, darling. My husband's kept me in the finest clothes!"" Introducing Parks and Recreation's April Ludgate's Janet Snakehole, complete with hat made from Trader Joe's bags and an old shirt. Classy.

Matt Patches: What's scarier than a psychopath? A psychopath with a dog hat! Sam Rockwell in Seven Psychopaths is one of the funniest performances of the year and makes for one of the best Halloween costumes.

Alicia Lutes: As a worshipper at the altar of Big and Little Edith Bouvier-Beale, I felt it appropriate to pay homage to Grey Gardens' Little Edie, the best costume for the day. (Mother wanted me to come out in a kimono, so we had quite a fight).

Shaunna Murphy: I'm a Juggalette. Woot woot. Family. Drink Faygo. ICP!!

Sydney Bucksbaum: Tom Haverford of Parks and Rec: This sheet is 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton. I'm not poking holes in it.

<Brian Moylan: I am dressed as a robot. Any old robot will do. Basically, it was the only costume I had lying around the house after the hurricane. It's like Lost in Space, but with the space being a natural disaster.
