WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) A Wausau company will be ending 600 jobs between now and early next year after losing a large government contract.

WPS Health made the announcement on Friday. They handle claims for another company that managed health care for military personnel. That contract was lost back in March and expires April 1st. 

Some jobs will remain in Wausau. Mayor Jim Tipple said that he expects many of the workers to find other jobs in the Wausau area.
