WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - This fall's high school theatre season is getting more advanced thanks to some summer theatre options.
Wausau West's theatre program just got done with their run of "Into The Woods" and theatre director Stacy Drenk says a number of her students are coming back from summer with new skills. "Even in the last couple of years, with a lot of theatre groups popping up, there's a lot of opportunities for people." That includes long term teaching programs like the Central Wisconsin Educational Theatre Alliance and newer ensemble companies like Oasis Theatre Ensemble.
Everest students are getting ready for a performance of Children of Eden later this week, and producer Christian Ammon says his students are getting help from the Everest Academy of the Arts. "They're gaining their experience in the summer with the college-level students and they bring that to the high school productions." That program produced Miss Saigon and Legally Blonde in the last several years.
D C Everest's production of Children of Eden opens Thursday night at 7, tickets are online at www.ShowTix4U.Com.
