How good are the sales of Taylor Swift 's new album Red ?  It's only been out for two weeks, and it's already the second biggest record of the entire year.

As Billboard notes, Red has now sold 1.553 million copies, overtaking One Direction 's album Up All Night to become 2012's second best-selling album.  The first?  Adele 's 21, which has sold 4.132 million this year.

Red also remains at #1 for a second week on the Billboard album chart, despite a 72 percent drop in sales.
