GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Green Bay Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy says he still has an offensive line rotation that will work, even with the absence of right tackle Bryan Bulaga. The third-year pro was placed on injured reserve yesterday with what’s said to be a dislocated hip suffered nine days ago in the Packers’ win over Arizona. Bulaga is the seventh Packer to be placed on I-R.
Left guard T-J Lang is moving to Bulaga’s right tackle spot, with Evan Dietrich-Smith filling in at left guard. The Packers play at Detroit on Sunday – and Dietrich-Smith was asked yesterday about stepping in almost a year after Detroit’s Ndamukong Suh stepped on his arm and smashed his head. Dietrich-Smith brushed the incident aside, just like he has in the past. He said he’s most concerned about getting up to the level of the starters – who had not missed a snap until the Arizona game.
Right guard Josh Sitton said he had informal codes to keep him and Bulaga in rhythm on the line. But he said Lang has played there before, and he expects the offensive line to keep its continuity. Lang started three games at right tackle in his rookie year.
